AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the procurement of 13 units of a circuit card assembly, referenced by NSN 7H-5998-015163874, for repair or modification purposes. The delivery terms are FOB origin and the items will be issued to Raytheon Company in Tucson, Arizona. This action is a sole-source procurement, meaning the Government intends to negotiate with only one supplier due to the specific requirements related to source control and the lack of suitable technical data or rights to allow acquisition from alternate sources. The part must be acquired from a designated manufacturing source as specified by DoD standards, since qualification testing or use of any second source parts is not feasible for this application. Interested parties may express their capability to meet the requirement, but competition is at the Government's discretion and this notice does not constitute a formal solicitation for competitive quotes. The Government has performed market research and determined that acquisition policies under FAR Part 12 for commercial items do not apply to this procurement. Technical data and manufacturing rights necessary to procure from other suppliers are either unavailable or economically unattainable. Documentation such as Military and Federal standards may be accessed by potential suppliers through the DoD Single Stock Point or online via ASSIST. The contract is managed by the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and interested suppliers have a limited window to respond with their interest in supplying either the specified or a commercial item equivalent.
