The contract involves the procurement of two units of a circuit card assembly for repair or modification, designated under NSN 7H-5998-014419673 and TDP Version 003, to be issued to Rugged Info Tech Equipment Corporation located in Simi Valley, California. Delivery terms are FOB origin, indicating the goods will be shipped from the supplier’s location. This procurement is intended for a specific government requirement with sourcing under FAR 6.302-1, allowing negotiation with a single source. However, the government invites any responsible sources to express interest or submit proposals within 45 days (or 30 days if under a Basic Ordering Agreement), though this notice is not a solicitation for competition but a means to determine if a competitive process is warranted. Award will be contingent upon meeting qualification requirements outlined in the solicitation and FAR clause 52.209-1. The contracting activity managing this procurement is the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Interested parties can obtain relevant Military and Federal specifications and standards through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) via the Document Automation and Production Service (DAPS), mostly available in PDF format through ASSIST-Online. While this solicitation deviates from commercial item acquisition procedures found in FAR Part 12, companies can still notify the contracting officer within 15 days if they can meet the requirement with a commercial product. The government’s decision to compete or not will depend on responses received, with all proposals considered for potential negotiation.
