This contract involves the procurement of seven units of a flexible shaft coupling, designated under NSN 7H-3010-014844051 with Technical Data Package version 002. The delivery terms specify FOB origin, with shipment directed to Specialty Seals in National City, California. The contract is intended to support repair or modification activities and is being issued under a sole-source negotiation authority in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, meaning the government plans to solicit and negotiate exclusively with one supplier. While this notice is not a request for competitive proposals, other interested and capable sources may express their interest or submit capability statements within a specified timeframe to be considered. Evaluation and award will depend on meeting the qualification requirements outlined in FAR clause 52.209-1, and the agency reserves discretion on whether to compete the procurement based on responses received. Access to relevant Military and Federal specifications, qualified product lists, and military handbooks can be obtained via the Department of Defense Single Stock Point’s Document Automation and Production Service, primarily through the ASSIST-Online portal. Specific technical documents such as patterns, drawings, and deviation lists are not stocked by DODSSP and must be sourced separately. The contract falls under the Department of Defense’s Navsup Weapons Systems Support Mechanical office, located in Mechanicsburg, PA. The government has determined that standard commercial item acquisition policies under FAR Part 12 do not apply, but interested parties may still propose commercial solutions within 15 days of notice. The award process will consider all timely submissions but is ultimately contingent upon conformity to stated requirements and qualifications at the time of contract award.
