The contract involves the procurement of three units (QTY 3 EA) of a specified part identified by NSN 7H-5845-012753785, with technical data package version 003, for delivery FOB origin to Raytheon Company located in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. This acquisition is being pursued under a sole-source negotiation approach, meaning the Government intends to negotiate exclusively with Raytheon due to the part being controlled by source or selected item drawings governed by DoD standards. The contract acknowledges that no suitable technical data, government data rights, or manufacturing knowledge exist to allow competition or the use of alternate sources, and that required data cannot be economically obtained, preventing qualification or testing of alternative parts. This action is classified as a notice of intent rather than a request for competitive quotes, though interested parties may express interest or submit quotes prior to award for consideration. The ultimate decision not to compete will rest solely with the Government based on responses received. The contract is related to repair or modification of housing and shaft components, under the Department of Defense’s Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mech office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. This procurement reflects strict source control requirements intended to maintain compliance with DoD-STD-100 and secure necessary technical provisions for the parts being acquired.
