J -- J-Maintenance, repair & rebuilding of equipment!!

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are not being requested for the solicitation number NOI6062. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-09. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a small business concern. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 811310, which has a business size standard of 6.5. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to award a sole source procurement to Carl Zeiss Microimaging for a one year maintenance agreement service(s) on one Microscope: LSM 510 NLO Multiphoton, serial number 2204000110, located at NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. The period of performance will be for one year. The proposed contract is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate w/only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Carl Zeiss is the only known vendor authorized and capable to perform service for provided equipment. - See Note 22. The government will award a fixed price purchase order to the responsible contractor.
