AI Contract Overview

The contract involves the procurement of a hydraulic manifold for repair or modification, identified by NSN 7H-4730-014352462 and TDP version 001, with a quantity of one assembly. The delivery terms specify FOB origin, with the item being issued to Vacco Industries in South El Monte, California. The Government intends to negotiate this contract as a sole-source procurement, inviting interested parties to express their interest or submit quotes before the award date. However, the Government reserves the right to decide whether to pursue a competitive process based on the responses received. This approach is due to the Government's lack of sufficient, accurate, or legible data that would allow purchasing the part from any source other than the current one. The contract is managed by the Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mechanical office within the Department of Defense, based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The solicitation was posted as a presolicitation in March 2012 under the identification number N0010412PCF74. The notice emphasizes that this is not a request for competitive quotes but a declaration of intent to negotiate. Responses received will be considered primarily to determine if a competitive procurement is necessary. The lack of a NAICS code or set-aside status suggests this contract is specific in nature and tailored to the Government’s particular requirements.
