The Mission Installation Contracting Command at Fort Gordon intends to award a sole source contract to Dorsett Technologies, Inc. for an amount not to exceed $47,868.01. This procurement is justified under FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) due to the unique capability of Dorsett Technologies as the only responsible source able to fulfill the agency’s requirements. The contract involves defining and implementing a fully operational HVAC control system using Direct Digital Control (DDC) components that are fully compatible with Fort Gordon’s existing Utility Monitoring Control System (UMCS) and SCADA system. This compatibility ensures seamless data exchange between the InfoScan workstations and the building’s DDC system without requiring protocol converters. Dorsett Technologies has a proven track record at Fort Gordon, having installed the DDC systems between 2003 and 2007 and previously contracted for the operation and maintenance of the UMCS and energy-related systems. This sole source award ensures continuity and compatibility in managing the site’s control systems, aligning with the agency’s technical and operational needs. The contract process complies with FAR regulations and reflects a targeted acquisition approach to meet specialized technical requirements without opening competitive bidding. The award is planned for September 27, 2010, and relates to NAICS code 334512.
