The contract pertains to the procurement of six units of a specific power supply assembly identified by NSN 7H-6130-014476158, version TDP 005, for repair or modification purposes. The delivery terms specify FOB origin with shipment directed to Frontier Electronic Systems Corp in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The government intends to negotiate and award this supply contract to a single approved source due to the unique and specialized design, engineering expertise, and proprietary manufacturing knowledge held by the current qualified source. This ensures maintenance of part quality and adherence to stringent engineering control requirements. While this notice is not a request for competitive quotes, interested parties may express their capability or submit quotes before the award date; however, the government retains full discretion to proceed without competition based on the responses received. The contract falls under authority FAR 6.302-1, allowing sole-source negotiation given the technical and proprietary nature of the item. To qualify as an alternate source, entities must comply with rigorous design control and engineering approval procedures overseen by government engineering activities responsible for the part’s application. The government is not employing commercial item acquisition policies for this procurement. Additionally, interested parties may access relevant military and federal specifications and standards through official DoD document repositories but should note that supporting drawings and deviation lists are not stocked electronically. Proposals submitted within the designated periods will be reviewed solely to determine if a competitive procurement will be pursued, underscoring the government's preference to contract with the existing qualified supplier due to their exclusive technical data and design capabilities.
