AI Contract Overview

The Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground plans to award a sole source contract to Struers, Inc. for the preventative maintenance and service of seven specific Struers metallurgical equipment models. This acquisition is justified under the statutory authority allowing Other than Full and Open Competition, as Struers, Inc. holds the proprietary documentation required to properly service the equipment, making them the only responsible source capable of fulfilling the agency's needs. The contract includes maintenance on equipment such as the RotoForce-4, RotoPol-31, MultiDoser, ProntoPress-20, Duramin A300C, and Secotom-10. Because of the proprietary nature of the needed services, the government has not developed information suitable for competitive solicitation and will not be issuing a solicitation package. While the notice is not a request for proposals, interested parties may respond in writing within seven days to provide information on their capability to perform the services. These responses are for the government’s consideration in determining if competition is feasible, but verbal responses will not be accepted. All inquiries and responses must be submitted via email to MAJ Michael Pavlisak at ACC-APG, who serves as the point of contact, with no obligation or cost to the government for submissions.
