The 316th CES/CEOE is seeking interested sources to provide maintenance support for Barrier1 Vehicle & Marine Traffic Security Barrier located at Andrews AFB, MD 20762. (www.barrier1.us) Maintenance shall be performed in accordance with manufacturer?s current recommendations and specifications manuals. All work shall be performed by qualified technicians specifically trained to work on barrier systems. The service provider?s maintenance and inspection program shall be based upon original equipment manufacturer?s recommendations, contractor expertise and standard industry practices. At a minimum, the service provider shall perform monthly maintenance and inspections. Mechanical and electrical safety checks shall be completed to ensure the safety of all systems. The purpose of this work is to prevent and correct equipment deficiencies, minimize breakdowns and service interruptions, extend barrier system life and maximize efficient operation. Service call repairs are those not defined as preventive maintenance and may be in the form of either emergency or non-emergency calls when a barrier system is non-operational. All deficiencies shall be corrected during the service call repairs whenever possible or within a maximum of one (1) business day. The service provider shall have all equipment and material required to start work upon arrival at the service location. All repair work shall be in accordance with normal commercial practices using parts specified by the barrier manufacturer or items of equal or better quality. Downtime of the barrier system shall be kept to an absolute minimum. The service provider must notify the customer of all projected downtime and estimated time for repair. The 316th Contracting Squadron seeks to learn from industry the unique aspects or procedures mandated for barrier maintenance. Preliminary research suggests that the scope of the contracts might exceed the capabilities of small business; however, the agency seeks large and small business respondents who are currently conducting maintenance on barriers within the United States or are interested in doing so. The input will help the Air Force ascertain the interest, capability, and capacity of all potential offerors. A review of available North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) codes finds that NAICS 561621 (Security Systems Services) is appropriate for this request. Comments on the NAICS code selection are welcomed. If you are an interested large or small business, please complete the attached questionnaire and provide the name, phone number, and e-mail address of a company representative the Government may contact for additional information. E-mailed responses are required. Notice: The Air Force has non-government (contractor) employees assisting with its market research. These non-government employees, who have all signed nondisclosure agreements, will have access to industry responses. Information gained through this RFI will be used to further define the 316th requirements. Individual capability briefs will not be accepted at this time.
