The contract involves the procurement of 11 units of a rotary switch, identified by the national stock number 7H-5930-013237159 and technical data package version 001. The delivery terms specify FOB origin, with the items to be issued to Dynalec Corp located in Sodus, New York. This notice indicates the government's intent to negotiate solely with Dynalec Corp, reflecting a limited acquisition due to the part's unstable design and the need for significant engineering and manufacturing changes. These issues have led to low process yields and marginal performance in tests and service, making the current configuration obsolete. As a result, the government plans limited procurement from the current source while these configuration revisions are underway. This procurement action is managed by the Department of Defense, specifically the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support office based in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The notice is a presolicitation and does not constitute a request for competitive quotes but invites interested parties to express interest or provide quotes prior to award, although the government retains discretion on whether to open competition.
