This contract pertains to the procurement of 13 units of a specific trigger device (NSN 7H-4210-013456651) intended for repair or modification purposes under TDP version 002. The delivery terms specify FOB origin, with the items to be issued to Carleton Technologies Inc. in Orchard Park, New York. This procurement is being conducted as a sole-source negotiation, meaning the government intends to negotiate exclusively with one supplier due to a lack of sufficient data to purchase from alternate sources. The notice allows other interested parties to express their interest or submit quotes, but any decision to open competition remains at the sole discretion of the government. The contracting office handling this procurement is the Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mechanical office within the Department of Defense, located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The notice was issued as a presolicitation and clarifies that this is not a competitive solicitation but a notification of intent to proceed with one source. The government’s consideration of any quotes submitted before the award date is primarily to determine whether a competitive procurement might be warranted, although the current position favors continuation with the incumbent supplier based on logistical and data constraints.
