The contract involves the procurement of three units of a regulating valve (NSN 7H-4820-011728194, TDP VER 006) destined for repair or modification. Delivery terms specify FOB origin, and the items are to be issued to Propulsion Controls Engineering in San Diego, California. This notice represents an intention to negotiate with a single source rather than soliciting competitive quotes, reflecting the Government’s reliance on a current and sole capable supplier due to the lack of sufficient or accurate data to procure the part elsewhere. Although interested parties may express their interest or submit quotes before the award, the Government retains sole discretion on whether to pursue competition based on responses received. The procurement activity is managed by the Department of Defense’s Navsup Weapon Systems Support Office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. The contract is identified under solicitation number N0010413PCF05 and was posted as a presolicitation in early March 2013. The acquisition focuses on the repair or modification of flight regulating valves and does not indicate any set-aside for small businesses or other categories.
