The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to enter into a sole source, firm-fixed-price contract with Xenex Disinfection Services Inc. for the maintenance and repair of Xenex Disinfection Robots used at the Boise VA Medical Center. These portable UV light robots play a critical role in reducing infection risks by deactivating germs without chemicals, effectively eliminating 95 to 100% of environmental contaminants. Only four robots are currently in use, and given that Xenex is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) with no authorized third-party service providers, this procurement is restricted to a single source under the applicable federal acquisition regulations. The contract is classified under NAICS code 811310 and reflects the agency's intent to solicit and negotiate directly with Xenex, with an anticipated award date of August 18, 2023. This notice serves to inform the public of the planned sole source procurement and is not a solicitation for competitive proposals; any submissions will be used solely for market research purposes and will not be compensated. The contracting office is located in Vancouver, Washington, and the designated contact for this procurement is Maureen Sundstrom. This contract ensures specialized support to maintain the operational readiness of critical disinfection equipment essential for controlling infection risks at the medical facility.
