Description: A Job Corps Outreach Day will be held on May 17, 2023, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), Office of the Senior Procurement Executive (OSPE), Job Corps Acquisition Services (JCAS). This event is free of charge to all participants. Who Should Attend: Any entities interested in learning more about Job Corps center operations contracts, specifically information related to operating centers under fixed priced contracts. DOL is especially interested in outreach to entities in underserved communities, such as Black, Latino, Indigenous and Native American persons, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and other persons of color; members of religious minorities; lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) persons; persons with disabilities; and persons who live in rural areas. Benefits of Attending: Job Corps is a residential training program that serves youth ages 16 to 24. Job Corps center operations are procured by DOL through fixed price contracts. This contract type is newer to Job Corps center operations, and there are key factors that contractors must consider when submitting a proposal in response to a center operations Request for Proposal. During the Outreach Day, DOL will go over how the fixed price type contract functions for center operations. DOL will also discuss some of the risks associated with fixed price center operations and give insight into assumptions DOL makes about a contractor's contract price. Conference Location: The Job Corps Outreach Day will be held virtually on Wednesday, May 17, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Pre-registration Requirements: All vendors are required to pre-register via email to ETAOCM-JC-INDUSTRYDAY@dol.gov. For pre-registration purposes, vendors are required to forward the following information: name, job title, business name and address, telephone number, and email address.
