This procurement involves the replacement of a 15 Ton Trash Rake Cantilevered Gantry crane with a new 20 Ton Trash Rake Gantry Crane at the John Day Lock and Dam Project near Rufus, Oregon. The contractor is responsible for the design, manufacture, installation, testing, and commissioning of the new crane, ensuring it operates on both primary shore power and emergency diesel generator power. The crane is critical for cleaning trash racks for generating units and handling racks for maintenance across 16 main generating units. A primary constraint of the project is that the powerhouse must maintain an operational trash rake gantry crane at all times, meaning the new system must be fully commissioned before the existing crane is demolished. The scope of work includes the removal of the old crane, which contains lead-based paint and asbestos-containing materials. Access to the site is available via John Day Dam Road or by barge from the upstream side.
