Joint Outfall J Unit 1E Trunk Sewer Rehabilitation

The Joint Outfall J Unit 1E Trunk Sewer Rehabilitation project, managed by the Los Angeles County Sanitation District, involves the rehabilitation of approximately 11,334 feet of reinforced concrete pipe gravity and siphon sewers and 27 manholes. The scope of work includes the installation of cured-in-place pipe liners for 9,362 feet of 27-inch gravity sewer, 777 feet of 30-inch gravity sewer, 580 feet of 21-inch siphon sewer, and 615 feet of 12-inch siphon sewer, as well as the application of a protective coating system to the manholes. The project is located within the cities of Rancho Palos Verdes and Los Angeles in the San Pedro area. The project is divided into four distinct segments that traverse a variety of environments, including public rights-of-way, city reserves, and private properties such as the Trump National Golf Course and the Palos Verdes Shores Mobile Homes and Golf Community. Work will extend from various manholes and terminate at the White's Point Pumping Plant. Due to the nature of the rehabilitation, flow bypass pumping is expected to impact several areas, including Palos Verdes Drive S, Marilyn Ryan Sunset Point Park, and Shoreline Park. This project is classified as a repair to an existing public facility essential for maintaining public health, safety, and welfare.
