This IDIQ contract authorizes issuance of sole source, time and materials, cost plus fixed fee, and fixed firm price orders to Pratt and Whitney, Military Engines, East Hartford, CT for programmatic, engineering, and logistics trade studies relative to the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF)F135 Propulsion System. Pratt and Whitney will conduct engineering and logistics investigations and the devleopment of associated technical data; integration studies; and studies related to the practicability, feasibility, desirability, and supportability of potential changes to the JSF F135 Propulsion System. The total contract ceiling is $75,000,000. The first order authorized the contractor to perform a F135 Fuel Burn Reduction Technology Demonstration - Conceptual Design study on a CPFF basis. Definitive estimates that accurately reflect the extent or duration of the work or anticipate costs with a reasonable degree of confidence are not available. A CPFF type order provides the Government with the appropriate flexibility to ensure that the completed owrk is provided in a timely and cost-effective manner.
