The Department of Defense, through NAVICP-M, plans to establish a Basic Ordering Agreement with Rolls Royce Allison Engine, located in Indianapolis, IN, to supply modification kits, parts, accessories, tools, and special support equipment for the Allison 501-K34 and 501-K17 gas turbine engines. This agreement will span an initial three-year period with options to extend for two additional one-year terms. Rolls Royce Allison, as the original equipment manufacturer, is uniquely positioned to fulfill this contract due to its exclusive ownership of the required technical data, expertise, and resources necessary to produce and support these engine components. The contract ensures that all orders under this agreement will comply with the statutory requirements outlined in 10 USC 2304 (C)(1). The government lacks the technical data required to manufacture these components independently, underscoring the importance of the agreement with Rolls Royce Allison as the sole source. Potential subcontracting opportunities related to this contract are available but interested parties are encouraged to contact Rolls Royce Allison directly. The solicitation was issued by the Navy Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support office based in Mechanicsburg, PA, with the aim to streamline procurement for critical support equipment and parts integral to maintaining the functionality and operational readiness of the specified engine models.
