Full Description

KC-10A aircraft maintenance training is still accomplished on actual aircraft; these training activities have an impact on mission capabilities, and mission requirements regularly delay maintenance training. All training is conducted by Air Force instructors. These MTDs will replace the need for operational aircraft for certain tasks and allow trainers to be utilized for the current Air Force courses. The MTDs will be used by all AFSCs currently being taught at Field Training Detachments (FTDs) and Maintenance Qualification Training Program (MQTP). The MTDs may also be used during the 3-level AFSC awarding courses for KC-10crew chiefs. The Agile Combat Support Directorate, Simulators Division is conducting market research to identify potential sources that may possess the capabilities to deliver Maintenance Training Devices (MTD) for the KC-10A aircraft. The KC-10 MTDs shall be delivered to Travis AFB, CA and McGuire AFB, NJ. The Air Force is looking to deliver one (1) full engine trainer and one (1) Main Landing Gear Trainer (MLGT) to each of the training sites (four trainers total).
