KMRD Hyder Seasonal Housing Facility (Rental Services)


This is a non-personal services contract to provide a housing facility for the Forest Service Ketchikan-Misty Fjords Ranger District (KMRD), Tongass National Forest (TNF), Alaska. The Government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such contract service providers shall be accountable solely to the contractor who, in turn, is responsible to the Government.


Background and Purpose: KMRD owns and operates the Fish Creek Wildlife Observation Site in Hyder, Alaska. Hyder is a remote Southeast Alaska community with approximately 50–100 residents, located about 75 air miles from Ketchikan, Alaska, and 2 miles from Stewart, British Columbia. KMRD staffs the Fish Creek Wildlife Observation Site annually from July through September. During this operational season, KMRD employees must reside in Hyder; however, KMRD currently does not have adequate facilities to house these employees and therefore requires the rental of suitable seasonal housing.


Requirement Description: The contractor shall furnish all labor, supervision, management, tools, materials, equipment, facilities, transportation, and other items and non-personal services necessary to provide a housing facility in Hyder, Alaska, for use by employees of the Forest Service Ketchikan–Misty Fjords Ranger District. The contractor shall provide services in accordance with (IAW) this Work Statement (WS), and all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.


Place of Performance: The housing facility shall be located in Hyder, AK 99923.


Period of Performance: The period of performance shall be for 1 Base Period of 12-months and 4 Option Periods of 12-months each.
