The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to: ArcticWhite LLC P.O. Box 1452 Bethlehem, PA 18016 The purpose of the acquisition is to acquire a quantity of two (2) Porvair Ultravap Mistral 96-well liquid evaporators. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b) (1) - only one source reasonably available. The Porvair Ultravap Mistral is the only 96-well liquid evaporator capable of 1) shuttling plates from a robotic deck to the drying station; 2) storing 15 custom evaporation programs and 3) safely detecting obstructions and plate alignment on the robotic deck. The features of the Mistral were designed in cooperation with Hamilton Robotics and Beckman Coulter to directly integrate with the Star and Biomek robots, two robots currently in use in the CDC laboratories. Since the Porvair has a small form factor and shuttling plate design, it can be added to CDC's existing robots without the need for extensive space acquisition and robot reconfiguration. No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. We will only issue a solicitation to Arctic White. CDC believes that ArcticWhite is the only source available to provide the equipment that meets mission critical requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for quote. A determination to compete this procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet this requirement.
