Laboratory Mice

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) intends to award a purchase order on a non-competitive sole source basis to The Jackson Laboratory, 600 Main Street, Bar Harbor, ME 04609. FDA will purchase the following: 001: 800, BALB/cByJ,4-5 week old male mice, Jax Strain #001026 002: 1760, C57BL/6J, 4 week old male mice, Jax Strain #000664 003: 128, Shipping crates 004: 128, Freight charges The Jackson Laboratory is the sole manufacturer of these patented genetically modified mice stains for FDA studies. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES. However, sources may submit descriptive literature, fully documenting their capabilities, which will be considered by the Agency. A determination to compete this procurement based on response(s) to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All inquiries must be received by 4:30 PM (1630) EST on 2 September 2009 to the attention of William Lee at William.lee@fda.hhs.gov. The FDA intends to make an award immediately after the response date of this notice. The award will be made in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures.
