Full Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health/Division of Laboratory Sciences intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to Phenomenex, Inc., 411 Madrid Avenue, Torrance, CA 90501-1430. The purpose is of this acquisition is to acquire SPE plates and LC columns needed for six DLS Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments methods. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is in accordance with FAR Part 13.106-1(b) (1) - only one source reasonably available. CDC believes Phenomenex is the only vendor that can provide the Strata-X 33'm, StrataX-C, Strata Sl-1 Silica, and Strata SCX polymeric phase SPE plates and the specific LC columns: Kinetex 1.7 - m HILIC 100A, Synergi 2.5 - m Polar-RP 100A and Kinetix 1.7 um biphenyl 100A. These specific SPE plates and LC columns that were used for method validation are needed to maintain emergency response readiness and continuity of the methods. This notice of intent is not a request for proposal. A determination to compete this procurement based on response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. We will only issue a solicitation to Phenomenex, Inc.
