The Air Force Materiel Command, through the AFLCMC/ESYK Large Aircraft Survivability office, has awarded a sole-source Firm-Fixed-Price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity contract to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation. This follow-on contract, identified as the LASER-X acquisition sustainment engineering requirements cross functional, ensures the continued procurement and support of Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures systems and subsystems. The scope of work includes engineering efforts, integration, installation, and sustainment for the Department of War, other U.S. Government Agencies, and Foreign Military Sales customers. The contract was executed as a sole-source action because Northrop Grumman was determined to be the only responsible source capable of satisfying the agency requirements. Managed by the AFLCMC HBKD office at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, the performance of the contract is centered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. This action follows the previous CY19-28 IDIQ and extends the procurement and sustainment capabilities for these critical survivability systems.
