Lake County Climate Action Plan – City of Lakeport

The project consists of adoption of the Lake County Climate Adaptation Plan (CAP), a countywide policy and planning document that establishes a framework to reduce climate-related risks and improve long-term resilience for Lake County, the City of Lakeport, and the City of Clearlake. The CAP addresses climate-driven hazards such as wildfire, extreme heat, drought, flooding, and degraded air quality. The CAP was developed collaboratively by Lake County, the City of Lakeport, and the City of Clearlake through a State-funded adaptation planning effort. It is organized around Lake County’s Pillars of Landscape Resilience and supports compliance with Senate Bill 379, while complementing existing planning documents, including the Lake County 2050 General Plan Update, the Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, and the Community Wildfire Protection Plan. Adoption of the CAP provides a policy-level framework to guide future planning, funding, and coordination efforts and does not authorize any specific development projects or physical improvements.
