Landers Hotel Project

The Landers Hotel Project, identified as solicitation PROJ-2025-00173, involves the development of a 30,000 square foot single-story hotel in San Bernardino County, California. The facility will feature 35 rooms and a comprehensive set of amenities, including a restaurant, bar, goods market, outdoor dining area, pool, hot tub, spa wellness center, and a multipurpose pavilion for exercise and meetings. The project is located on a 5.8-acre site in the Landers area, specifically east of Belfield Boulevard, and includes 106 parking spaces. Implementation requires several discretionary entitlements and permits, such as a Minor Use Permit, Lot Merger, Certificate of Use, and various health and environmental permits. The project is subject to extensive environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act, with a Draft Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration open for public comment from September 22 to October 21, 2025. Comprehensive technical assessments have been conducted, including geotechnical investigations following the 2022 California Building and Plumbing Codes, air quality and noise and vibration reports, and vehicle miles traveled analysis. Biological and cultural resource studies have been performed to ensure the protection of special-status species, such as desert tortoises and burrowing owls, and to manage potential archaeological finds. Professional oversight by qualified biologists, archaeologists, and paleontologists is required for pre-construction clearance and monitoring to mitigate environmental impacts.
