Large Displacement Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (LDUUV)

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) plans to issue a solicitation for the design, development, and fabrication of the Large Displacement Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (LDUUV), also known as Snakehead. This long-endurance, multi-mission unmanned underwater vehicle is intended to be launched from submarines with large open interfaces and capable of deploying various reconfigurable payloads. The LDUUV is designed for a range of future missions including surveillance, reconnaissance, mine countermeasures, intelligence preparation of the operating environment, and payload deployment, with full integration planned for Modernized Dry Dock Shelters and Payload Handling System-equipped submarines, and potential compatibility with select surface ships. The solicitation, identified as N00024-20-R-6302, will be released electronically via the Federal Business Opportunities website, and interested parties must monitor that site for its release as well as for any amendments or additional information. Participation requires registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) and possession of appropriate security clearances, including a Defense Security Service-issued SECRET facility clearance and SECRET personnel clearances.
