Lassen Ave Christmas Decorations

The City of Huron is implementing a project for the temporary installation and removal of lightweight seasonal Christmas decorations on existing publicly owned light poles along Lassen Avenue (SR 269) between Palmer Avenue and Tornado Avenue in Fresno County. The project will utilize a boom lift for installation, with work primarily conducted from sidewalks and public rights-of-way, though limited portions of Caltrans right-of-way will be used where sidewalk width is insufficient. The decorations are scheduled for installation in early December 2025 and must be removed no later than January 17, 2026. This project is classified as a special notice and is exempt under Class 1 and Class 4 categorical exemptions as it involves no ground disturbance, expansion of use, or permanent modification of existing transportation facilities. Administrative oversight is managed by City Manager Virginia Penaloza, with support from Consulting Engineer Angela Hall. The project is designed to provide a seasonal community benefit without altering existing structures.
