Lebanon Industry Value Chain Development (LCVD) Project

The Lebanon Industry Value Chain Development (LIVCD) project aims to enhance the economic prospects of Lebanon's rural population by partnering with the local private sector to develop competitive value chains. These value chains include a broad range of stakeholders such as farmers, agro-processors, input suppliers, transporters, exporters, small business owners, service providers, and retailers. By focusing on fully functioning and competitive agricultural and related economic sectors, the project intends to increase incomes and strengthen businesses across rural, peri-urban, and urban areas. The initiative is market-driven and will operate throughout Lebanon, targeting improvements in the competitiveness of selected rural value chains. Funded by USAID, the project will provide technical assistance, equipment, grants, and loans aimed at value chain financing to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in accessing competitive markets. Key objectives include enhancing firm linkages within value chains, increasing the gross value of products and services in both local and export markets, and boosting exports. Ultimately, these efforts are designed to foster greater economic stability and food security in Lebanon, particularly in rural areas, while also helping to mitigate urban migration. The project is managed by USAID’s office based in Cairo, with primary points of contact being acquisition and contract specialists.
