This contract, issued by the Department of Defense under solicitation FA2521-17-Q-A015, requires the procurement of 14 triple band LED area light fixtures and 14 corresponding 3 pin NEMA rated shorting caps. Each 92watt Type 3 fixture must deliver 11500 lumens with a 4000K luminous flux and maintain an Outdoor IP67 rating. To ensure durability in corrosive environments, the fixtures must feature a corrosion resistant polyester powder painted finish of 100um thickness and meet a 1000 hour salt spray certification per ASTM B117 or ISO 9227:2012. Additionally, each printed circuit board must include a transient voltage suppressor to protect against lightning and other voltage events. The technical requirements emphasize high color rendition standards to support identification and inspection tasks, specifically requiring a Color Rendition Index of 65 or greater in ID check areas and at least 50 in other areas. The performance of this contract is centered at Patrick AFB in Florida. No suitable substitutes are permitted for these specific technical requirements.

The requirement is to provide 14 triple band LED light fixtures with 14 - 3 pin NEMA rated shorting caps. Salient Characteristics: Each fixture must meet the following specifications with no suitable subs allowed: 92watt, Type 3, Triple band, LED area light fixture, with 11500 lumens and 4000K luminous flux. Must be at least Outdoor IP67 rated with a corrosion resistant polyester powder painted 100um thickness to protect fixture in a corrosive environment. Must meet a 1000-hour salt spray cert. per ASTM B117/ ISO 9227:2012 and each printed circuit board has to be mounted with a transient voltage suppressor to protect the LEDs from transient voltage induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. As discussed in the IESNA HB-9, "The light source spectral power distribution is important for identification and inspection tasks such as seeing hair, eye, clothing, complexion, and vehicle colors. The ability to identify colors accurately and confidently is determined by the light source spectral power distribution and the illuminance level. This capability is commonly referred to as color rendition and is measured by the color6-35 rendition index (CRI). To ensure appropriate color rendition, use a light source with CRI greater than or equal to 65 in the ID check areas, and use any nominally white light source (CRI greater than or equal to 50) at the illuminance typically encountered in the remaining areas of an ECF."
