Mortgage Servicing Solutions (MSS), operating as a division of Rhode Island Housing and Mortgage Finance Corporation (RIHousing), is seeking qualified legal firms to provide foreclosure and eviction legal services in Maine. The contract, which will span three years ending on November 30, 2027, aims to replace existing legal counsel lists and may result in the award of multiple contracts based on the firms’ expertise and capacity across various practice areas. Interested firms are encouraged to submit comprehensive proposals by October 17, 2025, detailing their experience, resources, and references, with the potential to be engaged for services valued between $500,000 and $2,000,000. The scope of work, outlined in the RFP, emphasizes confidentiality, insurance requirements, and the importance of aligning with MSS’s diverse legal needs. Proposals must be submitted via email to Liliana Alves at [email hidden], with the opportunity for firms to respond to specific practice areas relevant to their expertise. The RFP underscores that this process is intended to replace current legal counsel arrangements rather than supplement them, and firms on existing lists must respond if they wish to continue their engagement. The legal services sought focus primarily on foreclosure and eviction matters within Maine, supporting MSS’s mortgage servicing operations and ensuring compliance with applicable legal standards. The contract’s size and scope reflect MSS’s significant legal needs in managing mortgage-related legal proceedings across the state.
