The County of Riverside Purchasing Department, on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office (RSO), is seeking qualified vendors to supply less-than-lethal munitions and equipment as outlined in this Request for Quotation (RFQ). Purchases will be made on an as-needed basis, and there is no guarantee of a specific quantity of supplies being purchased within a fiscal year. Please note that the Sheriff's Office may award a contract without prior negotiations; therefore, bidders are encouraged to submit their lowest and best prices initially. All price quotes must include shipping and handling costs. Interested bidders should refer to Exhibit "A" of this RFQ for detailed product specifications. The RSO oversees an area of 7,300 square miles, stretching over 200 miles in length and approximately 50 miles in width. This vast territory makes Riverside County the fourth-largest county in the state of California. Since its founding, the population has grown significantly, from 13,745 in 1893 to more than 2.49 million in 2023. The dedicated professionals of the RSO, comprising over 4,000 men and women, are committed to serving the citizens of the region with integrity, professionalism, leadership, and loyalty. The purpose of procuring less-than-lethal munitions and equipment is to ensure that the Riverside Sheriff's Office (RSO) is prepared to respond to various situations, including planned events and unexpected civil unrest such as protests and riots. Additionally, the Sheriff's Office may be called upon to support neighboring jurisdictions through mutual aid or to request assistance for Riverside County. These events can pose significant challenges to public safety. To effectively manage these situations and protect both the community and law enforcement personnel, the Sheriff’s Office and its specially trained teams must have access to appropriate tools, including less-than-lethal munitions and equipment. These resources enable the department to manage crowds, ensure safety, and minimize the risk of injury to both civilians and law enforcement officers. *Note: Bidders must complete and submit the following: 1.
