Lifecycle Maintenance and Sustainment Working Group

Customs and Border Protection is establishing a Lifecycle Maintenance and Sustainment Working Group at its Headquarters in Washington, District of Columbia, to evaluate and enhance automation capabilities across its surveillance and communication systems. This centralized team will conduct thorough assessments of existing business processes, develop strategic roadmaps that align automation and maintenance initiatives with operational goals, and collaborate closely with subject matter experts in automation, system integration, and lifecycle planning to ensure optimal system performance. The group will also monitor system sustainability, implement necessary upgrades, and guarantee compliance with CBP’s mission-critical requirements while coordinating with field operations, technology vendors, and internal stakeholders to facilitate seamless deployment of solutions. This effort is being pursued through a Small Business Innovation Research award, reserved for small businesses under the SBA’s SBIR program, with the NAICS code 541614 for management, scientific, and technical consulting services. The acquisition is not yet solicited, as the document is posted as a forecast indicating future intent.
