The Western Area Power Administration is seeking to acquire specific line hardware under solicitation DE-RQ65-WD92019. This procurement is conducted on a brand name basis for items from Hughes Brothers, Anderson, Reliable/Bethea, and Preformed to ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure and to avoid maintenance and warehousing complications associated with mixing hardware brands on transmission line segments. Full Description

Western Area Power Administration intends to acquire, on a brand name basis, line hardware (Line item no's 8,9,17 through23, 25 through 32 and 34 through 37). Refer to other line items as specified on the solicitation. The Hughes Brothers, Anderson, Reliable/Bethea and Preformed hardware items requested are direct replacement specific hardware items that were used in earlier years/stages of these multi-year upgrade projects and these units must match the existing infrastructure. Having a different hardware brand every few miles on a single transmission line segment would present multiple maintenance challenges. Having to stock multiple brands for the same piece of hardware would be an excessive burden for Western's Warehouse function. ALL RESPONSES TO THIS RFQ MAY BE SUBMITTED ELECTRONICALLY, OR EMAILED TO contact@example.gov, OR FAXED TO +1 (555) 000-0000 OR MAILED TO WESTERN AREA POWER ADMINISTRATION, P.O. BOX 1173, BISMARCK, N.D. 58502 ATTN: CARMEN J. WIEDMEIER. THE SOLICITATION IS ISSUED AS A 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET ASIDE. NAICS CODE IS 335932. NAICS CODE 335932 IS ON THE NON-MANUFACTURER'S WAIVER LIST. SMALL BUSINESSES CAN SUPPLY ITEMS MANUFACTURED BY A LARGE BUSINESS.
