Literacy Leader Walkthrough Tool Implementation

The contract focuses on delivering professional development, technical assistance, and coaching support to a selected cohort of public and charter schools in the District of Columbia to support the implementation of the OSSE Literacy Leader Walkthrough Tool. This initiative aims to strengthen school-level literacy instruction by aligning educator practices with a structured literacy framework, ensuring consistent, evidence-based strategies are applied across classrooms. Support will be tailored to each school’s unique literacy strategy and will emphasize the use of data to assess the effectiveness of instructional improvements and the impact of targeted interventions on teaching quality. Educators and school leaders will receive ongoing coaching and guidance to effectively utilize the walkthrough tool as both an observation and improvement mechanism, enabling them to identify gaps in literacy instruction and make data-driven adjustments.
