The National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), the Emerging Respiratory Virus Section (ERVS), Laboratory is seeking to obtain information regarding: (1) the availability and capability of qualified small business sources; (2) whether they are small businesses; HUBZone small businesses; service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses; 8(a) small businesses; veteran-owned small businesses; woman-owned small businesses; or small disadvantaged businesses; and (3) their size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code of 112930 with a size standard of $0.75 million for the proposed acquisition to provide Ferrets of various ages ranging from below 8 weeks to 24 weeks. The Ferrets requested must be influenza-free and pathogen free to support the evaluation of experimental pandemic influenza vaccine candidates and studying transmissibility of influenza viruses in animal models. The estimated maximum amount is 1500 for a 5 year period. An organization that is not considered a small business under the applicable NAICS code should not submit a response to this notice. Any potential offers should respond with their capability statement by March 6, 2015 3:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Small business concerns are invited to provide their capabilities to provide ferrets in accordance with the requirements above and past performance providing similar requirements. Potential offers must indicate business size in their capability statement. This is a market survey, not a request for proposals.
