The following is a summary of the work to be undertaken to demolish the existing wood crib at Biolog Island (LL 5034). The crib remnants coordinates are approximately 44°58’53.607”N, 79°56’55.466”W. The site is located on the Southeastern side of Georgian Bay, or 11km West of Potters Landing, Ontario. The site is accessible by water only. The description of work in this project includes: • Mobilizing to site with a work barge of appropriate size and certification based on the Contractor’s assessment of the site; • Demolition of the existing wood crib, associated rock, and any submerged supports; o The crib is estimated to be 6’-0” long x 6’-0” wide x 3’-0” high (1.83m x 1.83m x 0.91m]; o Based on record drawings, it is assumed that a concrete foundation is fixed within the wood crib; • Cut and remove any remaining rebar and reinforcements connected to rock below; • Demobilizing from site; • Disposal of all waste at a licensed waste disposal facility. Site work is expected to take approximately one day and shall be completed by September 27th, 2024. Due to the remote site location and fact that the crib is located within the water, a detailed Environmental Protection Plan shall be implemented and shall account for the items listed in the specifications, as well as the demolition of the structure and transportation of the demolished goods from the site to the licensed waste disposal facility. All enquiries must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Authority no later than seven (7) calendar days before the bid closing date. Enquiries received after that time may not be answered. Closing date of the bid April 23, 2024 at 14:00 ET
