The General Services Administration (GSA) plans to extend the existing WorldNet contract GS02T11CLD0013, a regional Local Service Agreement (LSA) for Region 2, which currently expires on May 30, 2020. This extension will extend performance through May 31, 2023, with an estimated value of $68 million, shared across the region. The extension is being executed on a sole source basis under the FAR 6.302-7 public interest exception, meaning it bypasses full and open competition. The primary purpose of this extension is to provide agencies with additional time to integrate IT Modernization efforts, specifically during the transition from the WITS 3 contract to the Enterprise Infrastructure-Solution (EIS) contracts. The continuation of this contract is deemed to serve the public interest by enhancing cybersecurity, improving technical and operational efficiencies, and supporting long-term cost savings. The contract falls under NAICS code 517311 for Wired Telecommunications Carriers, with work performed at various sites in New York, New Jersey, and Puerto Rico. This notice is not a formal solicitation but an intent to negotiate to ensure continuity of service while facilitating the broader transition within GSA's IT infrastructure contracts. The designated contract specialist for inquiries is Steven R. Barry, reachable in Washington, DC.
