The General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) in the Pacific Rim Region plans to award two sole source bridge contracts to maintain continuity of local telecommunications services in Hawaii. These contracts will support a seamless transition from existing contracts with Hawaiian Telcom and tw telecom, which were awarded in 2006 and are set to expire in November 2011. Both firms have been providing telecommunications services to federal agencies across the state and are uniquely positioned as the only capable sources to continue these services without interruption. This approach helps prevent major disruptions, loss of functionality, degradation of services, and potential cost impacts to end users. The bridge contracts will cover approximately 1,250 Centrex lines and 25 circuits for an initial base period of six months, with an additional six-month option available. The contracts fall under NAICS code 517110 and are being managed by GSA FAS Region 9 based in San Francisco. The senior contracting officer responsible for this solicitation is Jo Ann Lew. This contract effort ensures the uninterrupted provision of telecommunications services while follow-on multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity, fixed price contracts are developed and implemented.

The General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) in the Pacific Rim Region intends to award two sole source bridge contracts pursuant to FAR 6.302-1 to provide continuity of local telecommunications services in the State of Hawaii and to support the transition of current services to follow-on multiple award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity, fixed price contracts. Contracts GS09T07DLD8002 and GS09T07DLD8003 were awarded to Hawaiian Telcom and tw telecom respectively on November 21, 2006, and are due to expire on November 20, 2011.
