Los Padres National Forest Ground Operations

The Los Padres National Forest Ground Operations project, managed by the California Department of Parks and Recreation Off-Highway Motor Vehicle Recreation Division, focuses on the maintenance and monitoring of existing facilities within the Mt. Pinos, Santa Barbara, and Santa Lucia Ranger Districts. The scope of work includes Level 2 and 3 road maintenance across 78 miles of routes open to off-highway vehicle use, as well as the repair and maintenance of restrooms, day use areas, signs, fences, and barriers. Additionally, the project encompasses monitoring and reporting for the Habitat Management Program. This project is designated as a special notice and is not a competitive procurement, meaning it does not involve small business or socioeconomic set-asides. It is classified under CEQA Categorical Exemption 15301 for existing facilities, as the activities are not expected to cause significant environmental impact and will not expand current facility operations. The performance area spans Kern, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties, with Scott Soares serving as the primary point of contact.
