This single responsibility contract awarded by the Egyptian National Railways involves the design, supply, construction, phasing, testing, and commissioning of significant railway infrastructure upgrades across multiple sections in Egypt. The scope of work includes the Greenfield Link, the Marazik-Wahat section upgrade, and the El Bashteel to Itay El Baroud section upgrade, which specifically requires the installation of 90 kilometers of new track and selective upgrades to existing tracks over a 117 kilometer stretch. Additionally, the project covers the upgrade of the El Itihad to Tafaroa section spanning 96 kilometers. Beyond the physical construction and track installation, the agreement encompasses the provision of spare parts, comprehensive training, and detailed documentation. The contractor is responsible for a total guarantee that includes ongoing maintenance services and technical assistance to ensure the long-term operational success of the signaling upgrades and track installations.
