Lower Manzanita Phase II Fuels Reduction Project

The primary goal of the Project is to reduce hazardous fuel continuity, flame length, and rate of spread to protect surrounding structures and improve ingress/egress safety along community access routes. The primary carrier of fire in the project area consists of native conifers, dominantly Jeffrey Pine, and sagebrush and shrub species.Vegetation treatment activities will adhere to the following prescriptions:Mechanical & Hand Treatment: Utilization of skid steer mechanical mastication units and hand thinning crews to remove target brush and understory vegetation.
