NASA intends to procure two Magna Power electronic loads, specifically the WRx30-1000-60+LXI and WRx30-200-300+LXI, to support the Solar Electric Propulsion Power Integration Testbed. These tools are essential for replicating end-to-end power string capabilities for future missions, with an immediate focus on the Asteroid Redirect Mission. One unit will serve as a high-fidelity Hall Effect Thruster simulator with a power range of 0 to 15 kW and a maximum voltage of 800 VDC, while the second will support the development of the Solar Array Electronic Simulator with a power range of 0 to 30 kW and a maximum output voltage of 180 V. Both simulators require water-cooling, programmable interfaces, active resistance mode, and multiple operating and protection modes. This acquisition is being conducted as a total small business set-aside under FAR Part 12 for commercial items. Interested organizations were required to submit their capabilities and qualifications by September 22, 2016, to determine if the procurement would be competitive. The performance of this contract is located in Cleveland, Ohio.
