NASA Goddard Space Flight Center is preparing to issue a Request for Proposal for a Magnetometer suite to be included on the Space Weather Follow On (SWFO-L1) Mission, a collaborative project with NOAA. This mission is a high priority effort aimed at ensuring continuous solar wind data and coronal mass ejection imagery, which are critical for space weather monitoring and have been identified as the National Weather Service's top priority. The magnetometer instrument will specifically measure the vector interplanetary magnetic field, contributing essential data for space weather observation. The contract, identified by solicitation number 80GSFC19R0049, was posted in late September 2019 and is classified under NAICS code 336414. The performance location is in Greenbelt, Maryland, and the point of contact for this opportunity is Jonathon D. Wingerberg, the Senior Contracting Officer at NASA. This instrument will be a key component in maintaining and advancing the capability to monitor solar phenomena that impact Earth's space environment.

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a Magnetometer suite (MAG) for the Space Weather Follow On (SWFO - L1) Mission. The SWFO - L1 Mission is a high priority joint undertaking by NASA and the Department of the Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The SWFO - L1 Observatory will provide NOAA with the continuity of solar wind data and coronal mass ejection (CME) imagery, which is the National Weather Service's highest priority for space weather observations. The MAG instrument will be part of the SWFO - L1 satellite. The instrument will measure the vector interplanetary magnetic field.
