The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to procure Main Engines Overhaul Components for MV Davenport on a sole source basis with Altorfer Inc. of Davenport, IA, in accordance with the statutory of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), Purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold and only one source reasonably available. The requirement includes the procurement of engine components required for the in-house overhaul of the MV Davenport's main engines which are powered by Caterpillar Marine engines. The contractor is to provide only Original Equiment Manufactured (OEM) components and accept core return deposits to credit as a refund on the total contract amount. The NAICS code for this procurement is 333618; Other Engine Equipment Manufacturing with a size standard of 1,500 employees. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer in the form of a capability statement.
