The U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) Regional Health Contracting Office-Pacific at Joint Base Lewis-McChord plans to award a sole source, firm-fixed price contract to Howmedica Osteonics Corporation (doing business as Stryker Orthopaedics) for maintenance and repair services of a government-owned MAKO Robotic Arm System. The contract will cover a base period plus two one-year options, with an estimated total value of $413,000. This procurement is justified under FAR Subpart 13.501(a)(1)(ii) due to the proprietary nature of the equipment and the fact that Howmedica Osteonics is uniquely qualified to provide the necessary services for Madigan Army Medical Center. This contract will be awarded without a solicitation since only this company can meet the technical and service requirements. However, the notice invites other firms that believe they can provide similar services to submit documentation supporting their capabilities, which may be used for future acquisitions. The acquisition will follow Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13. Communication regarding this requirement should be directed exclusively via email to the Contract Specialist, Christopher Baroldy, as no phone or fax inquiries will be entertained. The place of performance is at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington.
