The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, plans to issue an Invitation for Bids for the Wareham Harbor Federal Navigation Project in Wareham, Massachusetts. This procurement is designated as a Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 237990, with a size standard of $37 million. The project involves maintenance dredging of a 2.4-mile long, 9-foot deep navigation channel consisting of multiple reaches with widths ranging from 100 to 250 feet. The work requires mechanically dredging approximately 52,000 cubic yards of primarily fine-grained/silt material from a 10.2-acre area. Most dredged material will be transported about 35 miles by scow to the Cape Cod Bay Disposal Site via the Cape Cod Canal, while approximately 1,000 cubic yards of sand will be beneficially placed at a nearshore site off Church’s Beach in Cuttyhunk, about 28 miles away.
