Maintenance Hardness Tensile Testers

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with the additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; a proposal is being required and a written solicitation will not be used. Non-Personal Services: The Air Force intends to solicit and issue a sole source contract to Ilinois Tools Works, Inc., under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) for the following services: The contractor shall provide all labor, tools, equipment, test equipment, material, parts, quality control, transportation, inspection manuals, personal protective equipment and clothing including reflective clothing (belt, vest, etc), hearing protection, eye protection including prescription safety glasses, safety harnessess, fall protection equipment, lifting equipment and any incidentals necessary to travel to Tinker AFB, OK, to perform Calibration/certification, Preventive Maintenance (PM), and Remedial Maintenance (RM) on the three (3) Instron Hardness Tester, three (3) Microhardness Testers, one (1) Brinell Scope and two (2) Tensile Testers. The contractor shall be responsible for insuring all services and parts provided under this contract are in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined herein and conform to the manufacturer's equipment specifications and the attached Performance Work Statement (PWS). See Appendix A for equipment list. A Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract with a Time and Materials (T&M) line item is contemplated. The proposed Period of Performance is 29 Sep 2013 - 28 Sep 2014 with two option years. The estimated award date is 11 June 2013 . The responsible source may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government does not own the data rights or the processes for repair of these machines.
