This is a combined synopsis/solicitation/Notice of Intent for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this acquisition is NAIDNOI12003 and is being issued as a Notice of Intent. The incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-53 dated August 4, 2011. This acquisition will be processed under Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is not a small business set-aside. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 811219, which has a business size standard of $6.5. The National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to procure, on a sole source basis from BD Biosciences, a one year maintenance service contract agreement. BD Biosciences is the only known vendor or manufacturer that is authorized and able to provide certified technical expertise, parts and accessories for the following equipment: Item/Description/Quantity. (1) Service Contract for the FACSARIA II Special - no lasers; Serial No. P46900095. One (2) Service Contract, Sapphire 488-100 Blue Laser; Serial No. 3594.
